Hwy 2
Sometimes the most familiar places become the most unknown.
Long car rides are one of my favorite things. I think about the places I pass by and imagine what it’d be like if I had lived there. I sometimes catch glimpses of people in their cars and wonder where they are going and where they are from. Minnesota Highway 2 connects a good portion of my semi-frequent trips from the cities to my family’s cabin in the north woods. To capture it behind the camera invoked a sense of nostalgia — these roads I knew subconsciously but to see them still without motion was an odd feeling. I sensed this longing to understand these places of mystery, these places of imagination passing by. I longed to see the most familiar places with a new perspective.
